Robot Entry Lab

Measure the strategies over the asset's history and apply the best configuration to the robot. The Strategy combo offers three options.

17.1 Overview

The Strategy lab (Robot Entry Lab) measures strategies over the symbol's history so you can choose which configuration to apply to the robot that trades live. Open it from the chart context menu > Artificial Intelligence (AI) or with the Ctrl+L shortcut.

The window has two tabs

AI data: data preparation by timeframe (see section 11) Strategy: the parameters, the analysis result, and the table of saved analyses

The usage always follows the same cycle

Fill in the parameters in the left column. Click Start analysis. Each finished analysis becomes a row in the Analyses table. Compare the rows, choose the best one, and click Use to apply that configuration to the live robot.

Risk warning: results come from backtests on historical data and do not guarantee future performance. Always test on a paper account before trading with real money.

17.2 Quick glossary

Gain — distance of the profit target (take profit), in points. Stop — maximum loss, in points. In ladder (grid) strategies, it is the basket stop. Ladder (grid) — limit orders placed against the position, in steps, to improve the average price. Average price (AP) — average price of all orders filled in the cycle. Worst case per cycle — how much the cycle loses if the whole ladder fills and the stop is hit. Win rate — percentage of trades that ended in profit. Result — net result in money (and in points). Profit factor — gains divided by losses. Above 1 is profitable; above 2 is very good. Max Drawdown (DD) — largest accumulated drawdown in the period. The lower, the better. Net/DD — net result divided by drawdown. The higher, the better the return/risk ratio. Trailing stop — a moving stop that protects profit, following price in your favor.

17.3 Analysis parameters

At the top of the Parameters column

Measured default: returns the form to the strategy's measured configuration From robot: copies the parameters of the analysis applied to the robot into the form the Measured … defaults box shows whether the form is at the measured configuration or Modified, with the list of changed fields WORST CASE PER CYCLE: the loss in money if the whole ladder fills

Main fields

Strategy — how the entry is generated and how the position is managed (details in 17.4). Entry — Pullback or Market (details in 17.5). Gain / Stop — distances in points. You can enter a comma-separated list (for example 200,250,300) to test every combination at once. Risk : reward — bar comparing what the cycle wins and loses in money. Initial contracts — entry size.

Collapsible sections (each shows a summary on the right; a colored dot marks a difference from the analysis applied to the robot):

strategy section (for example MetaPro Scalp): Grid count, Contracts per grid, and Spacing (pts), with the note the ladder covers … pts against Entry filter: Off, EMA aligned, EMA + valid setup, or Valid setup only; Order Flow filter (experimental) and Confirm on next candle (the Order Flow filter is applied only by the live robot; the analysis does not simulate it) Trailing Stop: mode, Activation (pts), and Distance (pts) (details in 17.6) Trading window: Enable trading window, Start, End, and Automatically close orders outside the window Risk management: Turn the robot off when the daily gain is reached (on by default, with a Daily gain of R$ 600) and Turn the robot off when the daily loss is reached (Daily loss); when the limit is reached, the robot is turned off and the open position, if any, is not closed Advanced: shows up when the analysis timeframe needs to be chosen; normally the timeframe is the chart's

17.4 Strategies

The Strategy combo offers three options. Older analyses may show in the table with strategies that are no longer available for new analyses.

MetaPro Scalp

This is the default strategy. The entry comes from the AI signal, confirmed by the entry filter (MetaPro Scalp always uses the EMA aligned filter). From the entry, the robot places a fixed ladder of limit orders against the position (Grid count steps of Contracts per grid, spaced by Spacing (pts)). At each filled step, the basket take profit and stop are recalculated on the new average price, and the trailing stop protects the basket when it moves in your favor.

Measured configuration (Measured default): Gain 250, Stop 250, 5 initial contracts, a ladder of 5 steps of 2 contracts every 10 points (up to 15 contracts), EMA aligned filter, and a daily gain of R$ 600.

Risk warning: with the ladder full, the position reaches the configuration's contract ceiling; check the WORST CASE PER CYCLE before applying.

TL (Trend + Limit)

The entry does not use the AI signal: it comes from its own trend generator. On each closed 1-minute candle, with the 1-minute and 5-minute chart trends aligned and the 5-minute trend still young (fewer than 16 bars), the robot places a limit order at the EMA9 with an extra 20-point pullback, valid for one candle, between 09:15 and 14:00. Position management (ladder, average price, take profit, stop, and trailing) is the same as MetaPro Scalp.

Measured configuration: Gain 250, Stop 300, 5 initial contracts, a ladder of up to 7 steps of 1 contract every 30 points, trailing 40/20 waiting for the candle close. The entry type is locked to Pullback. TL was designed for the 1-minute chart.

Tape Reading

The entry comes from reading the tape (Order Book and Times & Sales): when the aggressor balance becomes extreme at the top or bottom of the recent range, the strategy enters at market against the move, from 13:00 on. Position management is the same as MetaPro Scalp (measured configuration: Gain 30, Stop 60, 1 initial contract, 15 steps of 1 contract every 10 points, no trailing).

Important: Tape Reading is lab only — the Use button is blocked and the robot does not trade this strategy. To simulate it, the analysis uses the recorded sessions of the symbol: turn on the Tape Reading - Quotes and Tape Reading - Times & Sales logs (in Settings > Logs > Data for Tape Reading) and keep the symbol's chart and Times & Sales open during the session.

17.5 Entry type (where the position is opened)

Pullback — does not enter at market: it places a limit order at the moving average level and waits for price to come back to it. The level does not chase price; if the order does not fill within the time limit (30 candles), it is cancelled. Market — enters at market as soon as the signal is confirmed. The market order goes out without take profit / stop loss, and the TP/SL is added right after the fill.

17.6 Trailing Stop (moving stop that protects profit)

Available modes

Off — no trailing; only the basket stop applies. Real-time — the trailing tightens the stop on every tick, without waiting for the candle to close. Wait for candle close — the trailing only recalculates when the candle closes; it is steadier and less sensitive to noise inside the candle. AP Protection — when the position becomes much larger than the entry, the target moves close to the average price; applied only by the live robot (the analysis does not simulate it). Ladder (SL at rung) — the basket stop sits one step behind the last filled step and only moves when a new step fills.

With Activation and Distance: when the profit over the average price reaches the Activation, the stop locks the Distance in favor of the average price and then follows the best price with a gap of Activation − Distance. Example with 40/20: at +40 points, the stop moves to +20; if price reaches +60, the stop rises to +40, and it never moves back.

Note on trailing: the analysis measures the trailing at the close of each candle. In Real-time mode, the live robot tightens on every tick, so the real result may differ from the measured one.

17.7 Start the analysis

Click Start analysis. While it runs, the Running the analysis… card and the Cancel button appear. The analysis uses the timeframe's AI data; if it does not exist, the data is prepared automatically before the analysis.

Common messages

Enter at least one positive gain value. An analysis or training is running. Wait for it to finish before using this action. Analysis stopped because the required training was not completed. Analysis cancelled.

17.8 How to read the result

The title shows the analysis date and, when it is the one on the robot, the In use on the robot tag. The Chart, Panels, and History buttons show or hide each part.

main indicators: RESULT (money and points), PROFIT FACTOR, WIN RATE, BEST DAY, and WORST DAY Minimum recommended capital: (Max DD × 1.5 as a safety margin, per contract) Result evolution: the accumulated curve per traded day, in money or in points

Panels

Robot Settings: the configuration used in the analysis (timeframe, strategy, entry, trailing, filters, stop, take profit, contracts, trading window, and the ladder) Summary: last analysis, data used for training and testing, period, traded days, and Net/DD Risk: worst trade, worst losing streak, best day and trade, negative and positive days, total, blocked, and executed trades, average win and loss, and average time open Monthly / Hourly: each month's result and the 5 most profitable hours and the 5 with the most losses

17.9 Analysis table

The Analyses table lists the saved analyses of the symbol and timeframe, with the Date, Strategy, Entry, Gain / Stop, Win, and Result columns.

Row actions

Use: applies the analysis to the robot with the parameters saved on the row; the applied row shows as In use pencil (edit): changes the Initial contracts and the trading window of the analysis without running it again chart (execution): opens the Analysis execution window, with the chart of each session (entries, exits, and average price) and the table of every cycle trash can: deletes the analysis from the history (with confirmation)

Important: the analysis is not applied while the robot has an open position. Wait for the cycle to finish and try again.

17.10 Step-by-step "from scratch"

Open the symbol's chart on the desired timeframe. Open the lab (Ctrl+L) and check, on the AI data tab, that the timeframe is Ready or In use. On the Strategy tab, choose the Strategy. Click Measured default to start from the measured configuration. Adjust Gain / Stop, Initial contracts, and the ladder if you want, and check the WORST CASE PER CYCLE. Review Trailing Stop, Trading window, and Risk management. Click Start analysis. Read the indicators, the curve, and the panels; use the execution view to see the cycles one by one. Repeat with other parameters — each analysis becomes a new row. Choose the best row and click Use. Turn on the robot on the chart with the Robot button.

17.11 Good practices and risk warnings

Always test on a paper account before trading with real money. Prefer configurations with a good Net/DD and a Profit factor above 1 (ideally above 2), not just the highest result. Look at the WORST CASE PER CYCLE, the drawdown, and the Minimum recommended capital to size the capital per contract. Keep the AI data up to date and redo the analysis when the market changes. Backtest results do not guarantee future results.

17.12 Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Which strategy should I use? MetaPro Scalp is the default strategy, with the entry from the AI. TL generates its own entry from the trend and trades on the 1-minute chart. Tape Reading is lab only. What does Use mean? The live robot starts trading exactly with the strategy, gain, stop, ladder, trailing, filter, trading window, and risk management of that row. Why is the Use button blocked? The strategy is lab only (Tape Reading), or the analysis uses a policy not yet supported by the robot. Why does the first trailing stop not sit at breakeven? When the Activation is reached, the stop locks the Distance in favor of the average price; with 40/20, the first stop is at +20 points. Does Entry change the trade signal? No. It only changes where the position is opened: Market enters right away; Pullback waits for the pullback to the average. How do I choose the best row? Compare Result, Profit factor, Win rate, and the drawdown across rows, and use the Monthly / Hourly panel to check consistency over time.
